Your adventure begins just after sunrise, between 6 AM and 7 AM, when hot air ballooning flight conditions are best and the morning sunlight enhances the natural beauty of the famous Napa Valley, CA. We generally meet at the Railroad Depot on Lincoln Avenue in Calistoga, CA (see map), and take off near by. You can choose to assist the crew in the hot air balloon inflation process (a particularly fascinating aspect of hot air ballooning) or simply watch and socialize with your fellow passengers.

The Calistoga Hot Air Balloon of Napa Valley crew inflates the balloon to 70%, then with burners add hot air to get it standing upright. When instructed, you and your fellow passengers hop into the hot air balloon's large wicker basket. The crew makes final preparations while your pilot gives you a pre-flight safety briefing. Once everyone is secured and the hot air balloon is ready to go, you begin your gentle ascent above California’s Napa Valley in a hot air balloon. Since you are moving at the exact same speed as the wind, it is amazingly calm and the experience can be likened to taking an escalator a few thousand feet up into the heavens.

After about an hour of floating and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Napa Valley, CA Wine Country, the hot air balloon will be navigated to a safe landing zone. Touching down is about as gentle as the take off, and once you are on the ground the crew will quickly begin to dismantle the hot air balloon. After everything is packed up, your ballooning party is driven down the road to the Hydro Cafe for a champagne breakfast (see the menu below).
